When darts hit the board, they produce a ‘thudding sound’ which can sometimes be perceived as very disruptive by those around you or by neighbours. In collaboration with soundproofing experts, Karella now has the perfect solution to eliminate the noise almost entirely. Darts players have been waiting for such an invention for a long time.
The secret lies in the material composition and construction:
The two-part Karella soundproofing system consists of a soundproofing core, onto which the steel dartboard is mounted, and a surrounding soundproofing ring. Both parts are manufactured from millions of highly specialised soundproofing fibres. The interaction between the soundproofing core and the surrounding soundproofing ring achieves almost complete sound decoupling. When the dart hits the board, the dull thud is transmitted via the back of the dartboard to the entire fibreboard. Professional measurements have demonstrated a noise reduction of over 80% in the dart room as well as in adjacent rooms. The measured values were below 30 dB and thus below normal room volume (35–50 dB).
The anthracite-coloured Karella soundproofing cover, with its size, covers an area of 12cm around the dartboard and is therefore also ideal as a surround due to its material composition. This dual purpose makes purchasing the Karella soundproofing cover even more cost-effective. If required, any standard catch ring can also be used in addition without restriction. The Karella soundproofing cover is 100% Made in Germany. The fibre material is tested for harmful substances in accordance with Oeko-Tex and contains no chemical additives. It is odourless and environmentally friendly. The soundproofing is highly dimensionally stable and therefore very robust and durable, as it is virtually wear-free. The visually attractive soundproofing is universally suitable for any steel-tip dartboard, and the most common dartboard lighting systems can still be used.
