The 5-in-1 “Ultimo” tool from Robertson is unbeatably versatile!
This handy 9 x 4 cm tool is made of soft, flexible plastic, with a stainless steel grinding surface incorporated into the back. The curved shape of this file allows the leather, and especially the leather edge, to be restored to perfect shape. A uniformly shaped edge is essential for striking the cue ball, particularly during spin shots. On the front, there are three useful tools: a round trimmer made of embossed aluminium is integrated in the centre. At the top is a small round cylinder from which 20 small metal tips protrude. These can be used to ‘poke’ the pores of the adhesive leather surface slightly to ensure optimum chalk adhesion.
The integrated narrow 4 cm long plastic rail serves to ‘harden’ the edge of the leather tip through friction. What makes the “Ultimo” trimmer unique are the recesses on the sides. These are not only very useful when handling all the tools, as they ensure you always have a firm grip, but also serve to check whether the leather tip has the desired radius. This template features 8 different radius settings. From a radius of 7.5 to 12.5, you can easily check all curves precisely and quickly, from 9 mm snooker leather to 14 mm pool leather.
