Cuetec ’s brand-new AVID Opt-X series cues allow you to view the game from perspectives never seen before.

Each cue is crafted from kiln-dried, premium Canadian maple and features an original design. The cue is supplied with the fibreglass-coated AVID 12.25 mm low-deflection maple shaft.

AVID Cleaning and Care

Cuetec AVID cue tips.

Cuetec AVID tops must never be sanded or roughened. The use of abrasives damages the coating, may weaken the glass composite bonding layers and releases potentially harmful materials that could pose a risk to your health. Any polishing, sanding or treatment of the surface with abrasives or chemicals of any kind will void the warranty.

Never use baby powder, chalk, talcum powder or other treatment agents on an Cuetec AVID cue tip.

To clean the surface of your Cuetec AVID top, you will need just a few materials: isopropyl alcohol (75% or higher) and two (2) clean, lint-free soft cloths.

Step 1. Remove dust and dirt by wiping the top with a soft, clean cloth.

Step 2. Apply a moderate amount of isopropyl alcohol (75% or higher) to a clean, soft cloth. Next, rub the cloth up and down the length of the shaft whilst rotating your hand around its circumference. You may see dirt on the cloth. This is completely normal. Continue wiping with the same motion until all areas are thoroughly cleaned, then allow the surface to dry for a moment.

Changing the tip of your Cuetec AVID tip.

Cuetec AVID tips feature a lightweight white ferrule. This front-end design allows for easy replacement of the tip throughout the tip’s lifespan. When changing the tip, it is important to clean the ferrule. The minimum height of the ferrule must be greater than 2 mm to maintain warranty coverage.

* Always use a reputable and experienced cue fitter. Never allow a cue fitter to sand or modify the surface of the shaft when installing a new tip.

Replacing the ferrule of your Cuetec AVID tip.

Although it is unlikely that the ferrule will ever need replacing, this must be carried out by an authorised Cuetec repair service. This is necessary due to the complexity of the adhesives used and to ensure that the glass bonding layers are not damaged. Adjusting the weight of an Cuetec AVID cue tip.

Cuetec AVID tips use a cartridge-based weighting system. To adjust the weight of your cue, remove the bumper using a 10 mm Allen key. Once the bumper has been removed, insert a Phillips screwdriver into the piston and turn it anti-clockwise to remove all installed weights. Cuetec Acueweights are available in increments of 0.25 oz, 0.05 oz and 1.0 oz.

Warping

Cuetec AVID tips come with a lifetime warranty against warping.

Misuse

Cuetec AVID tops are not designed to withstand significant lateral pressure. They should never be excessively bent, struck against other objects or treated with abrasives, whether solid or liquid.

Diameter

Cuetec AVID shaft diameters should never be altered. Any grinding, polishing or sanding may damage the ultra-thin glass bonding surface and immediately void the warranty.
